Using Affiliate Programs

In order to use popular affiliate programs such as the eBay Partner
Network, Amazon and Commission Junction you need to have a website
already up and running. If you are starting from scratch, the best
thing to do is get your own domain name and hosting. Then set up a
free blog on your site (e.g. using WordPress) and put some quality
articles and nice graphics in it. After this, when you apply for any
of these affiliate programs, you are more likely to be approved. Once
you have approval you can then use the Automatic Niche Store Generator
to generate your own affiliate store.
The Automatic Niche Store Generator is written in PHP. Simply upload
the script files to your webspace and follow the instructions to create

The script requires your website to be able to make calls to external
applications (the eBay, Amazon and CJ interfaces). Almost all reputable

should be available.
If you're using free web hosting, then check this first, as the script

users, Hostgator (the Baby Plan is ideal). In fact, although I live in
the UK, I use Hostgator for my hosting, as multiple domain names can be
pointed to different subfolders in the hosting account, avoiding the
need to buy separate hosting for each domain. Most of my domain names
are registered with Heart Internet (as they have the .co.uk ending),
then pointed to my Hostgator hosting account.

The eBay Partner Network
The rules for joining the eBay Partner Network have recently changed.
Joining is still free, but in order to successfully apply you really
need to have a website already set up and running. So take a moment to
review what you need to do first if you want to use this program:
1. Purchase your own domain name, with hosting (preferably a top level
domain such as or .co.uk) for a period of 2 years or more.
Choose a domain name relevant to your niche (e.g.
antique-razors). You will need to be able to use PHP 5, and
free hosting is not recommended as it may mean vital functions have
been switched off by the hosting company which could prevent the
successful operation of your niche store. A good hosting company
in the UK is Heart Internet, at heartinternet.co.uk.
2. Create a basic site, which contains product reviews and articles
relevant to the niche you are targeting. Probably the best thing
to do at this stage is install a free blog platform (e.g.
WordPress), and use a suitable site theme (such as the one provided
here). You can get free articles from sites like Articles Base and
Ezine Articles.
3. Include a Privacy Policy in your website, with a link to it on your
front page (e.g. at bottom of page). See here for an example.
4. Include an "About Me" or "About this Site" page in your site.
5. DON'T include any adverts or widgets from other programs or
publishers at this stage (i.e. no AdSense, etc).

Once you have a basic, fairly attractive site in place with some blog
posts, articles and interesting content relevant to the niche you are
targeting, you can then apply to the eBay Partner Network.
When you apply to the eBay Partner Network, make sure you select the
Natural Search/Website Business Model, and specify your website
address.
This should hopefully get you accepted into the program, after which
you can create your own niche stores using the eBay program.

Heads up: There's an ongoing spamdexing of Google searchbot algorithms. Sites that are 'copies of copies' and cloaked sites which include Zorgium keywords presented to search engine crawlers yet garbage content presented to human visitors were hosted on thousands of IP addresses and domains registered immediately after the introduction of Zorgium in November of 2009. The Hostgator/'The Planet'/Softlayer datacenters in Texas seem to be the epicenter of this activity in conjunction with anonymously registered domains of various TLD's but primarily .info domains at Godaddy which, in our opinion, has some sort of connection to the domains of goldmint.in and goldmint.org. Google has begun to notice this and has begun to lower the ranking of these sites and put our original sites back on top of the search rankings. These actions, as far as we can tell, negatively impact the use of the keyword 'zorgium' as a search term and provided little benefit, if any, to the perpetrators.

ZORGIUM note to content providers: If you don't want your page to appear in Zorgium's search abstraction then put an exclusion for "Zorgium" in your web server's robots.txt file.
